Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the process used to imporove a websites ranking within the organic/free search results of search engines such as Google,Yahoo and MSN for particular key words that relate to your websites content, having a well optimised website will increase the amount of visitors to your website giving you more potential customers potentially leading to more sales

There are two types of search engine optimisation onsite search engine optimisation (SEO) and offsite search engine optimisation (SEO) both techniques can help to improve your websites traffic.

Onsite search engine optimisation relates to the build of your website making sure that all content is easily found by the search engine spiders during this part of the SEO process we will make sure that all page titles are descriptive and contain your choosen key words we will then add meta tags about the keywords mentioned within your site and a meta description telling the search engines what your pages are about we will add descriptive labels to all images found throughout your website as search engines cant read images this gives us a way of telling the search engines what an image is about otherwise the search engine would simply ignore it all together. We will then review all content found throughout your website to make sure that your choosen keywords are mentioned frequentley throughout your website.

Offsite optimisation is a way of increasing your websites traffic outside of changing the actual websites design and content. Offsite SEO techniques include link building or exchanging links with other related websites, registering with web directory sites, using social networking sites to advertise your website, blogging about new products or services that you offer on sites like twitter all of the mentioned methods will help to improve your website ranking within search engines as backlinks (i.e a link from someone elses site to yours) helps the search engine decide how important you page is and how it should be positioned within there search results.
